NYC — As teenagers growing up in different claims, Shoba Narayan and Michael Maliakel discussed a passion for one preferred movies – “Aladdin.” Both tend to be of Indian lineage, plus the animated film, they watched people who appeared to be them.
That shared love moved full-circle this month as Narayan and Maliakel lead the Broadway company in the musical “Aladdin” outside of the pandemic, playing Princess Jasmine in addition to hero through the title, respectively.
